December 29th CBS aired the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony originally held on Sunday, December 6th, with Caroline Kennedy as host for the seventh consecutive year.Dave Brubeck, has written a number of jazz standards including “In Your Own Sweet Way” and “The Duke”. Brubeck’s style ranges from refined to wild, reflecting both his mother’s attempts at classical training to his improvisational skills.

Grace Bumery, As a youth Grace Bumbry sang in church choirs and was obsessed with singing as a child. In 1955 she entered Northwestern University, where she studied voice and later transferred to the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California. In 1958 she was joint winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions. She made her professional debut in a recital in London in 1959.

Jennifer Nettles was a very good performer. She was already 35 year old but still an dynamic singer. Her performance on Bruce Springsteen’s melodies in front of the first couple on at the Kennedy Center Honors 2009 was very wonderful. The song was a tribute to one of the honorees of the award, who is no other than, Bruce Springsteen.

Jennifer performed on a number of Bruce’s compositions which included “My Father’s Houseâ€, “Glory Days†and “I’m On Fire†that showed the versatility of Springsteen’s melodies.
The American Grammy-winning country music artist became the latest to perform in front of the US President after Brad Paisley, Alison Krauss and Charley Pride who all had performed at the White House earlier this year.

Rocker Eddie Vedder is fighting legal action from a Canadian singer/songwriter for changing the lyrics to a song he recorded for the “Into the Wild” soundtrack. The Pearl Jam star recorded Gordon Peterson’s tune “Hard Sun” in 2007 for Sean Penn’s hit film, but Peterson, who originally wrote the track in 1987, wasn’t happy when he heard the finished version – and realized the rock icon had altered the lyrics.
Peterson is now suing Vedder and has filed papers in New York’s Manhattan federal court. The suit states, “Vedder altered certain key lyrics of ‘Hard Sun’… eroding the integrity of the composition.” Executives at Universal Music are also targeted in the lawsuit after allegedly licensing the track without his permission.

Most people are getting interested with the TV show “Private Chefs of Beverly Hills.” The show will played at the Food Network at 9. This show will tell us the adventures of a certain company that lets private chefs coming from Los Angeles to have their profession tested with very demanding clients carrying lots of wealth at their hands.
This show would be very interesting because there will be a challenge to these chefs in cooking with the demands of a very demanding rich person.

David Warren “Dave” Brubeck (born December 6, 1920) is an American jazz pianist. He has written a number of jazz standards, including “In Your Own Sweet Way” and “The Duke”. Brubeck’s style ranges from refined to bombastic, reflecting his mother’s attempts at classical training and his improvisational skills. His music is known for employing unusual time signatures, and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities.
His long-time musical partner, alto saxophonist Paul Desmond, wrote the Dave Brubeck Quartet’s best remembered piece, “Take Five”, which is in 5/4 time and has endured as a jazz classic. Brubeck experimented with time signatures throughout his career, recording “Pick Up Sticks” in 6/4, “Unsquare Dance” in 7/4, and “Blue Rondo à la Turk” in 9/8. He is also a respected composer of orchestral and sacred music, and wrote soundtracks for television such as Mr. Broadway and the animated miniseries This Is America, Charlie Brown.
